Washington, D. C. Area Interstates

You'd think the nation's capital would bulk up on these job-creating, business-attracting, nearly-free interstates. Instead, D.C. leaders have dropped plans for almost 1,500 lane-miles of highways since 1961. (Washington Post). These include downtown paths for I-66 and I-95, two outer beltways, and I-266. Here's a map showing the downtown area:
