I-516 Georgia (link)6.49 miles [1]; Interstate 516 is the W. F. Lynes Parkway, off I-16 in Savannah. Formerly Loop 26. Date of interstate certification (between 1978 and 1985) not known. Since the 516 info is so sparse, here's some I-16 history, from the Savannah Morning News: "Interstate 16 was staked out in March 1959; appraisals of land began in September 1959. On Sept. 18, 1963, the first dirt was turned for construction in Chatham County. On Nov. 24, 1967, officials cut the ribbon, officially opening the eastern part of I-16. The cost of the 28 miles from Montgomery Street to the Bulloch County line was $21 million." See also: I-516 (AARoads) Sources
